The One Shirt can be a top, a T-shirt, or a sweater depending on how you choose to work your armholes or sleeves. The pattern includes instructions for two scenarios: leaving a top with an original bind off on the armholes or working short sleeves (if you want long sleeves, simply continue knitting to the desired length).
You will cast on the neckline stitches and divide by placing Markers to indicate where you will work the increases. You will work shoulder increases in the round, and once you have reached the ideal shoulder width for your size, you will separate the shoulder stitches (27 on each shoulder for all sizes).
You will continue working the front and back pieces separately and flat along the armhole depth. Before reaching the full depth, you will make some increases to shape the armhole under the arm. Once you have worked the front and back pieces, you will join both pieces together by casting on stitches under both arms and begin working in the round along the body.
Once you have reached the desired length, you will cast off all the stitches using the Purl-Two-Together method (Russian method).
Then, you will pick up stitches along the armholes to work either the bind off (simply picking up stitches and then working the same bind off as on the body) or a sleeve. To work the sleeve, you’ll use short rows until you achieve the perfect crown shape. Then you can choose whether to work a little more length for the sleeve or bind off with the length achieved with
the short rows.
In the pattern you will find videos of all the techniques used.
